- A colour match of these products to other wood products, such as stairs, stair railings, cabinets, trim and molding, cannot be warranted.
- In order to maintain the recommended relative humidity of 35% to 55% inside the home, installation of a humidifier or dehumidifier may be necessary. The floor is designed to perform in an environmentally controlled structure.
- Area rugs should be moved periodically to minimize the effects of ultraviolet light on hardwood floors.
- Natural wood characteristics such as mineral streaks, small knots and grain variations are normal and are not construed as defects. No two pieces of wood are the same, and colour or other variations can occur, including the normal minor differences between colour samples and installed floors.
- Only approved cleaning and maintenance products are appropriate for use. Use of any oil soap or ammonia-based cleaner will void all warranties.
- The warranty does not cover damage arising from accidents, abuse, abnormal wear, spike heels, grit, scratches or dents.
- Gloss reduction is not considered wear-through and is not covered under the finish warranty.
- Colour changes resulting from UV light are not covered. Merbau, Pine, Cherry and Brazilian Cherry are especially susceptible and may darken with exposure.
- Excessive ground moisture caused by natural weather conditions, including excessive rainfall, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding or other natural disasters, is not covered.
- Consequential or incidental damages associated with a warranty claim are excluded. Repair, refinish or replacement of flooring material, or a refund of the purchase price, are the sole remedies.
- Insect infestation after the product has left the factory, and scratches or stains caused by domestic pets, are not covered.
- All warranties are limited to the original purchaser and apply only to the products listed in the warranty brochure.
- Damage due to water saturation, including a leaky faucet, a broken pipe or wet-mopping, is excluded.
- The use of putties during and after installation is considered normal and is not cause for a claim.
There are no warranties which extend beyond the description on the face of the warranty. Rights and limitations vary from state to state, which is why the warranty information should be retained. No installer, retailer, distributor, agent or employee has the authority to increase or alter the obligations or limitations of the warranty.
