For the specific wear requirements of commercial projects, a commercial grade of Alumide is offered — the advanced formulation of acrylic urethane enhanced with the addition of aluminum oxide granules. Commercial Alumide, in a process that delivers even higher levels of aluminum oxide, delivers greater wear protection. Invisible to the naked eye, these granules make Commercial Alumide more resistant to wear than other wood finishes.

Composition
A UV curable stain colours and seals the wood in preparation for subsequent UV coatings. Layers of UV curable sealers formulated with aluminum oxide provide a ceramic/organic composite; in the commercial finishing process an even greater amount of aluminum oxide is applied. A scratch resistant UV curable topcoat resists the fine scratches that lead to a visible traffic pattern on flooring.
